Enrollment

Anyone aged 18 and over can register for a course.

Enrolment and payment

You can register for your course via the website. Payment is done via iDeal. Would you like to pay in another way? Please contact the secretariat: [email protected] After receiving and processing your registration, you will receive a confirmation e-mail. Your registration is final upon receipt of payment. As soon as it is certain that a course can go ahead (no later than one week before the start of the course), we will send you a certificate of participation. This is also your proof of payment. If you need an invoice, please contact the secretariat.

Waiting list / Extra course

If you register for a course that is fully booked, you are automatically put on the waiting list. If a place becomes available, we will contact you. If there are many people on the waiting list, we will try to organise an extra course.

Cancellation and changes

One week before the course start date, we will decide whether there are enough applications for the course to go ahead. Therefore, do not wait too long to register!
In case of insufficient interest, we reserve the right to cancel a course. You will be informed as soon as possible. The full course fee will be refunded. The Volksuniversiteit reserves the right to have a course given by a different teacher than mentioned in the course programme.

Course material

You must purchase lesson materials yourself, unless stated otherwise in the course. If you are charged separately for any materials, you can pay the teacher directly.
We recommend that you do not purchase books and materials until it is certain that the course will take place (no later than one week before the first lesson). The prices listed for course materials in the programme guide and on the website are an indication.
You can purchase course material for the language courses via the Intertaal booking service.

Change of course location

Volksuniversiteit The Hague reserves the right to change the course location at any time due to the volume of enrolments or the availability of a location.

Calamities and force majeure

In case of force majeure and calamities, the course may have to be continued on another date, location or online. As no regular continuation under the old conditions is possible in these situations, no refund of all or part of the course fees will be granted.
If, due to force majeure (e.g. in case of government measures such as a lockdown), on-site courses cannot take place, a switch to online classes will be made as soon as possible. Switching to online classes due to force majeure does not entitle you to a refund of course fees.

Cancelled lesson

If the teacher is absent (due to illness or other reasons), the cancelled lesson is usually made up at the end of the course. Please take this into account when planning other activities.

Refund of course fees

Refunds are possible up to 14 days before the start of a course or workshop, minus a €25,00 administration fee. After that, no refunds will be possible.
Refunds are not possible for courses costing up to and including €30,00.
You can, however, send someone else to the course, lecture or workshop if you are completely unable to attend in consultation with the secretariat.

Liability

Volksuniversiteit Den Haag is not liable for damage to persons and/or property, nor is it liable for theft or loss of personal property during the courses and other activities it organises.

Agreement

By registering and paying the course fee, you declare that you agree to the above-mentioned registration conditions and our general terms and conditions.
