Chinese painting - all levels

Chinese painting is creating beautiful works. Its about harmony, balance, lay out and embracing the flow.

This course is suitable for beginners and for more experienced students.

During every class you will finalise one painting to take home. The topics will vary and be mostly nature, like flowers, birds, and landscapes. Every lesson a completely new topic to discover. 

Materials needed:

  • Brushes - 5 sizes
  • 1 Chinese black ink - bottle 60 ml
  • 15 Xuan-paper sheets 66x33 cm
  • 5 Chinese water colour tubes
  • 1 Underlay calligraphy mat
  • 1 Plastic colour palette

You can buy it easily from the teacher (€ 75,-) or look for it at a shop.

This course is taught in English. The teacher understands Dutch and is learning to speak the language.

      Entree via de zij-ingang; deze bevindt zich aan de linkerkant van het gebouw. Parkeren in de buurt is ’s avonds gratis. Betaald parkeren op maandag t/m vrijdag 09.00-14.00u, maximum aanmeldduur 120 minuten. Parkeren achter het schoolgebouw is NIET toegestaan.

Liza Lin

Liza Lin is from Shanghai and the founder of Poetic Ink. She is an experienced artist, painting and calligraphy teacher living in the Netherlands and a member of the art society Haagse Kunstkring in The Hague. Liza is educated at the Shanghai University - College of Fine Arts. Her father, Lin Shen Long, also educated her in her early years. Liza writes and teaches various calligraphy styles. She masters all five foundation styles of Chinese calligraphy. She also works in the painting styles Xieye, Mogu and Gongbi, showing her works in group and solo exhibitions.
